Workshops and Events
The Primrose Park time-sharing arrangements give us the opportunity to offer several workshops each month as well as school holiday programs and special workshops involving visiting tutors. Our planned workshops are detailed below. If you would like more information, please email us at paperarts@primrose-park.com.au
Papermaking is a great activity for schoolchildren, and they love our school holiday workshops. The list below changes, of course, but you should find some interesting children's workshops for the next school holidays.
You can download an enrolment form for any of these workshops by clicking HERE

| 5-DAY PAPERMAKING COURSE |
| 10am - 3pm, Thursday July 29, August 5, 12, 19, 26 |
This intensive course will give you the skills to create a range of paper from recycled materials to beautiful plant-fibre paper for use in stationery, cards, printmaking and other 2D and 3D artworks.
DAY 1. Basic papermaking - this will include sheet formation, couching, pressing and drying as well as experimenting with some decorative variations.
DAY 2. Plant fibre papers - A basic introduction to the preparation, cooking and beating of plant fibres to make interesting papers from plants in your garden. Plant fibre can produce papers from semi-translucent to heavily textured.
DAY 3. Layering - Plant materials and pictorial images may be captured in paper by various methods of sandwiching and multiple layering in the forming process.
DAY 4. Embossing and texture - Unique papers will be created by low-relief embossing of a variety of materials. You will experiment using techniques in the wet to create different textures and shapes.
DAY 5. Rusting - Using iron sulphate you will experiment with some of the plant fibre and textured papers from previous weeks to obtain richly rusted colours. |
