Our framing equipment is available to any member who has undertaken the safety training course we provide. It can be noisy in use so it is not available while workshops are under way.
We have a relatively small but well-equipped gallery area for the display of members' work. Any member of the Centre is entitled to an exhibition in this gallery for a period of up to one month. This gallery is distinct from the publicly-available gallery housed nearby in the Primrose Park Community Hall.
Expansion
Other art-oriented groups may be able to join Primrose Park provided that the processes they use are compatible with the environmental requirements of the existing members and suitable sharing arrangements can be agreed. All enquiries in this respect should be addressed to the Management Committee.
Studios
The branches of the arts practised at Primrose Park have diverse needs for equipment, so we have developed a system of time and space sharing as part of our management practice.
Our basic routine sees papermaking activities occurring on Mondays and Thursdays, bookbinding on Tuesdays, and calligraphy on Wednesdays. Fridays are used flexibly, with special workshops for people with disabilities often being held. The darkroom is available to the photographers more or less continually.
Weekends generally alternate between papermaking and calligraphic activities, with occasional bookbinding or photographic special events.
Activities such as framing and digital photographic work are fitted in by arrangement between the parties involved.
